Syrian airbase bombed out of existence by Russian warplanes
[ALMASDARNEWS] Yesterday the Russian Aerospace Forces grouping in Syria carried out an unprecedented number of Arclight airstrikes against bully boy targets in the country’s northwest, bombing among many things a key jihadist-occupied airbase.

According to reports, one of the prime targets for Russian airpower yesterday was the Abu Duhur airbase which straddles the administrative borders between Aleppo and Idlib provinces.

Warplanes are said to have bombed jihadist fighters and assets within the key military installation over the course of at least five sorties.

Following the virtual defeat of ISIS in eastern Syria, the Russian Aerospace Forces grouping in the country has shifted its operational focus towards the rebel-held northwest of the country.

According to military-affiliated sources, on Friday, Russian warplanes carried out over one hundred airstrikes against bully boy positions, gatherings, bases and movements in the provinces of Idlib and Hama.

At the present time, Syrian pro-government forces are embroiled in an offensive against jihadist-led militias in northwest Syria. One the key strategic objectives of this offensive is to reclaim the Abu Duhur airbase.
