IS mass grave, rest houses and training camps found in Salahuddin

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The pro-government paramilitary troops have confiscated a mass grave and destroyed rest houses and workshop for the Islamic State militants in Salahuddin, a commander said on Monday.

The media service of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) quoted Karim al-Khaqany, commander of the second brigade, as saying “PMFs as well as the army’s fifth division managed to control village and crossing of al-Mayta in north of Samarra, during the second day of operations to purge Mutaibija.”

“Troops also ran into a recent grave by IS as well as rest houses, training camps, booby-trapping workshops and amount of explosives in the village,” he added.

Paramilitary troops denies agreement on postponing operations against ‘White Flags’

Kirkuk (iraqiNews.com) The pro-government paramilitary troops have denied any agreements between Iraqi and Kurdish troops over postponing military operations against separatist group in Tuz Khurmatu.

“There is no any agreement between federal and Peshmerga troops over postponing the attack against these [White Flags] terrorist groups,” Ali al-Husseini, the spokesperson for al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) in the northern axis, told Baghdad Today website on Saturday.

“Al-Hashd and the Iraqi troops are aready and await the commands to eliminate these armed groups,” he said.

Earlier on the day, news reports mentioned that federal and Peshmerga troops agreed on adjourning the army’s operation against the White Flags.

Six suspects, including two members of separatist group, arrested in Salahuddin

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Six suspects were arrested over doubts of involvement in firing rockets against Tuz Khurmatu town, a source from the prime minister’s office said on Friday.

“Surveillance jets followed the perpetrators who fired the rockets last week. They were besieged in several houses in Calar region, west of Tuz Khurmatu,” the source told Alghad Press.

“Preliminary investigations showed that two of the suspects belonged to the so-called ‘White Flags’ group,” he added.

“Intelligence operations were launched ten days ago to follow the groups which seek destabilizing security in Tuz Khurmatu,” the source said. “Military reinforcements dispatched by the commander-in-chief of the armed forces to Tuz Khurmatu come within the plan drawn to eliminate the group and reveal its supporters.”

Eight security personnel killed, injured in suicide attack, northwest of Samarra

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) Eight security personnel were killed and injured in a suicide attack, a security source said on Friday.

“Two persons were killed, while six others were wounded in a suicide attack that was launched against Saraya al-Salam (Peace Brigades) in al-Howeish region, northwest of Samarra,” the source told Baghdad Today without giving further details.
