Militants detonate explosives in Nangarahr mosque
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A heavy kaboom took place inside a mosque in eastern NangarharThe unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. province of Afghanistan which resulted into the destruction of the mosque building. The provincial government media office in a statement said the incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Momand Dara district after several landmines stored inside the mosque by the snuffies went off. The statement further added that the kaboom also caused damage to the nearby buildings besides causing heavy loss to the building of the mosque. According to the Nangarhar government, several religious books and materials, including the holdy Koran copies also sustained damages in the kaboom. This comes as the anti-government armed snuffies had earlier detonated explosives inside a mosque in Momand Dara which resulted into the killing of a prayer leader of the mosque besides injuring eight others.
