Puntland State Army Officer Shot Dead In Galkayo Town
[RadioShabelle] A Puntland...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion... army officer has been bumped off in Galkayo town last night, government officials told Radio Shabelle. Mohammed Yousuf Adan, a senior officer of Puntland Darawish forces, was shot by men armed with pistols while he was heading to his home in the north of Galkayo. The assassins, who were unknown, have beat feet from the scene.
