Coalition says UN ‘biased’ in Houthis’ favor
[ARABNEWS] The Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews... militias in Yemen  ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...has denounced a UN statement on civilian casualties in the war-torn country as "biased" toward the rebels. The coalition said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the UN needs to review the humanitarian work mechanism and the competence of its employees working in Yemen. The fighting is futile and absurd, UN resident coordinator Jamie McGoldrick said. He claimed that coalition  s killed 109 civilians over the past 10 days, including 68 in one day in separate airstrikes.The coalition said McGoldrick’s statement "creates a constant state of uncertainty about the information and data on which the UN relies and undermines its credibility." Turki al-Maliki, the coalition front man, said the statement ignores the crimes being committed by the Houthis against the Yemeni people, namely the killings, kidnappings and arrests of hundreds of members of former President former President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh  ... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...’s General People’s Congress Party, their children and women, as well as the targeting of civilians. US Defense Secretary James Mattis blamed the Houthis for stockpiling weapons in residential areas, which he said was not a sign that they care about the safety of civilians.
