State Dept: Four US citizens killed, two injured in Kabul attack
[The Hill] Four Americans were among those killed in a weekend attack at a hotel in Kabul, Afghanistan, the State Department said Wednesday.Two other Americans were injured in the attack on Saturday at the Intercontinental Hotel. "We offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed and wish for the speedy recovery of those wounded," State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement. The attack began when six Taliban militants stormed the hotel in suicide vests, allegedly targeting foreign guests. In total, 22 people were killed in the 13-hour siege. Of those, 14 were foreigners.
