"Islamic State’s so-called Islamic State in al-Waqf basin, northeast of Baquba, succumbed to death after getting injured last week, when an  targeted a rest house," Sadeq al-Husseini, head of the committee, told AlSumaria News."The airstrikes killed several IS leaders over the past few months, especially in al-Waqf basin, where some sleeper cells still exist," he added. Thousands of IS Death Eaters as well as Iraqi non-combatants were killed since the government campaign, backed by paramilitary troops and the coalition, was launched in October 2016 to fight the holy warrior group.
