Video of Brotherhood leader’s son with Daesh affiliate not unprecedented: Expert
[AlAhram] A video released earlier this week by Egypt's deadliest terrorist group Ansar Beit al-Maqdis has drawn widespread attention in the country after revealing that the son of Moslem Brüderbund leader Ibrahim El-Deeb, Omar, had joined the group’s ranks in Sinai before he was killed by police last year.In the video, a bearded El-Deeb appeared wearing army fatigues and promised "dark days" for "infidels and apostates," referring to members of the Armed Forces. He said that he and others in the group have attacked several military checkpoints. The video has renewed public discussion about the links between the banned Moslem Brüderbund and the North Sinai-based ISIS affiliate Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, which has grabbed credit for a series of deadly attacks against security forces and civilians over the past few years.
