Rantburg Exclusive: Horrific Afrin Civilian Attrocities 2/22/2018
There was not a release of battle field events by the SDF as they were overwhelmed with numerous reports of major human rights atrocities coming in regarding NATO member Turkish Military and their Al Qaeda allies, three of which are listed. I leave it up to the moderators to filter out any items that may be too graphic for publishing:1) A major convoy of unarmed, civilian activists heading to Afrin to show solidarity with the people of Afrin was struck by Turkish artillery and air strikes. Early reports indicate many fatalities and wounded. 2) A large group of unarmed young women in a village were rounded up and summarily executed. The video does seem to show one victim in military kakis but the rest the young women appear to show only civilian clothing, most likely young mothers who lived throughout the village.
