Samarra's police chief resigns
The police head of Samarra, Maj. Gen. Talib Shamel al-Samarrai, announced his resignation on Thursday, saying that he can not do his job properly due to the unrest in the northern Iraqi city. Violence continued for the second day in Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad, leaving five Iraqis dead and several others injured including one U.S. soldier. On Wednesday, a U.S. army spokesman Capt.
