Abu Sayyaf rebel arrested in Sulu
[Mindanao Examiner] An Abu Sayyaf insurgent has surrendered to the military in the southern province of Sulu. Military spokesperson Jo-ann Petinglay said Jupakkal Usman, from the village of Lahing-Lahing in Omar town, on surrendered Tuesday. Usman was a follower of slain Abu Sayyaf leader Alhabsy Misaya.Petinglay said some 182 militants had surrendered since last year in Sulu, Basilan and Tawi-Tawi provinces in the Muslim autonomous region.
