Theranos chief charged with fraud
[DailyMail] Elizabeth Holmes, the chief executive of the blood-testing company Theranos, has been charged by US securities regulators with an 'elaborate, years-long fraud.'The SEC charged Holmes, 34, and former Theranos president Ramesh Balwani Wednesday with raising more than $700million by exaggerating or lying about the business and its technology. The pair made a deal to settle the case against them, with the penalty including her surrendering majority voting control of the company, according to a statement by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
