Afghan president invites Abbasi for talks to repair ties
[DAWN] Afghanistan's Caped President Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..on Saturday invited Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to Kabul to kick-start a ’comprehensive bilateral dialogue’ with the aim of repairing the fractured relationship between the two countries. Mr Ghani extended this invitation during a meeting with Pakistain’s National Security Adviser retired Lt Gen Nasser Janjua, who was in Kabul on a day-long trip on the invitation of his counterpart Hanif Atmar. "Today, I received Pak NSA at Dilkusha palace. As a follow-up to Kabul Process, I have extended an official invitation to Pak prime minister to visit Afghanistan.
