GoFundMe For Fired FBI Deputy Andrew McCabe Hits 400K
The official GoFundMe account for fired FBI Deputy Andrew McCabe has reached $400,000, less than a day after his friends set up the page to help him deal with what they call an "extended humiliation" at the hands of the Trump administration. Some 10,000 people have participated so far in the crowdfunding effort, which will help pay for McCabe’s legal defense. Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired him just days before he was slated to retire, dispossessing him of his pension and benefits, on the grounds that he was not candid under oath. McCabe denies he was dishonest, and plans to fight the loss of benefits. His friends gushed over his "unblemished" career at the FBI on the GoFundMe page, and characterized the powerful D.C. insider as the victim of a "completely unjustified" firing by a cruel administration.
