7 people killed, injured in IS attack against police station in Salahuddin

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) One of the people wounded in the attack against a police station, south of Samarra, Salahuddin province, has succumbed to death, making the total death toll rise to four victims, a security source said on Monday.

Speaking to Baghdad Today website, the source said, “one of the security personnel wounded during the attack by Islamic State members against Dalf police station in al-Abbassi region, south of Samarra, succumbed to death, following several attempts to rescue him.”

“The death toll went up reaching four victims, in addition to three wounded people,” the source added.

Earlier today, the source said the attack was carried out by a suicide attacker, wearing suicide belt, and was followed by an armed attack against the police station.

Pro-gov’t forces repatriate new batch of displaced families in Iraq’s Samarra

Salahuddin (Iraqinews.com) – Pro-government forces repatriated on Monday 38 displaced families in Samarra city in Iraq, a move which comes as part of the country’s efforts to help all internally displaced people return to their houses.

In a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Alforat News, the media service of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) said, “Troops of the 313th brigade helped a new batch of displaced families, totaling 38, to return to their homes in Haji Hussein village in western Samarra.”

“The families extended thanks to the paramilitary troops for their efforts to remove bombs from their houses and help them get back again to their home regions,” according to the statement.

Iraqi security: Three terrorists apprehended in Tikrit

Salahuddin (Iraqinews.com) – Iraqi intelligence officers arrested on Monday three terrorists, who were wanted by the judiciary on terrorism-related charges, a police spokesperson was quoted as saying.

In a press statement, a copy of which was obtained by Alghad Press, Spokesman for the Iraqi Security Media Center Brigadier General Yehia Rasool said, “Troops of the 7th division of Iraqi military intelligence set an ambush at the southern entrance of Tirkit city in Salahuddin province, managing to arrest three terrorists.”

The three terrorists are wanted pursuant to article ¼ of the anti-terror law, added the statement.
