They have also added that the situation in Afghanistan continues to tank despite 17 years of war as the Taliban and other holy warrior and terrorist groups continue to their devastating and deadly attacks.

The inspectors-general have specifically pointed towards the recent deadly attacks in Kabul which left hundreds of people dead, stating that "The Taliban continued to hold territory and launched devastating terrorist attacks in Kabul and across the country."

In regards to the predictions to force the Taliban to negotiations table through use of force, the report by the US inspectors-general state that "there was little publicly available evidence that the actions to increase pressure on the Taliban were having a significant impact."

The inspectors-general have also added in their report that found no "significant" gains in territory by U.S. and Afghan forces, despite the White House strategy’s goal to increase the territory under government control to 80 percent from 64 percent through intensified air strikes and ground operations.

According to the report, the new strategy and White House efforts to force Pakistain to act against holy warrior sanctuaries have also not yielded positive results despite pressures and suspension of billions of aid.

The inspectors-general have also casted doubt regarding the upcoming parliamentary and districts councils election, stating that "Given that the Taliban views the Afghan government as a U.S. puppet, it is unclear how U.S.-supported elections would increase the legitimacy of the Afghan government in the eyes of the Taliban and would pressure the bully boyz to reconcile."
