3 dead, 12 wounded in coordinated suicide attack in Logar
[Khaama Press] At least three people were killed and twelve other were maimed in a coordinated suicide boom-mobileing in central Pashtun-infested Logar province of Afghanistan.Provincial police front man Shapoor Ahmadzai confirmed that a group of jacket wallahs launched a coordinated attack on Police District#1 cop shoppe earlier today. Ahmadzai further added that the suicide bombers initially detonated a vehicle packed with explosives near the cop shoppe while three suicide bombers managed to enter the cop shoppe and started festivities with the security forces. He said the suicide bombers were eliminated after a brief exchange of fire by the police forces but the blast left at least three coppers dead. According to Ahmadzai, at least four coppers also sustained injuries after the boom-mobile exploded. At least eight civilians were also among those maimed, the provincial police front man Shapoor Ahmadzai added. In the meantime, the Taliban ...Arabic for students... group front man Zabiullah Mujahid claims that the attack was carried out on a unit of the Quick Reaction Forces. Mujahid went on to claim that the attack has left several personnel of the Quick Reaction Forces dead along with their commanders but the local officials reject the Taliban claims.
