The source, who preferred to be unnamed, explained that the “troops intensified their security presence along the borderline with Syria starting from Ar-Rutbah town to Al-Qa’im district” to face any terrorist threat by Islamic State. The terrorist IS group still has noticeable presence in different parts of Abu Kamal city and Hajin cities on the country’s borders with Syria, the source concluded.
