Al-Shabaab Attacks KDF Base In Southern Somalia
[RADIOSHABELLE] al-Shabaab...  Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...has fired several mortar shells at a military belonging to Kenyan defence forces [KDF] serving under African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... Mission [MISOM] in southern Somalia, residents said. The mortar attack was targeted at KDF’s camp in Fafahdhun area in Gedo, where the Kenyan soldiers are stationed, according to a villager, speaking to Radio Shabelle by phone. The raid has sparked a heavy shootout ensued between the Death Eaters and the Kenyan troops which led to an unspecified number of casualties.
