Report: Trump Asked Israeli PM To Free Turkish Suspect In Exchange For US Pastor-Erdogan Screwed the US Didn't Hold Up His End
[Ynet] Washington Post report cites official 'familiar' with a failed deal in which US president personally asked Netanyahu to free suspected Hamas-collaborator Ebru Ozkan to secure release of US Pastor Andrew Brunson who has been detained in Turkey for 2 years.
The Times of Israel added:
Brunson served as pastor of Izmir Resurrection Church, a small Protestant congregation, and has lived in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
 for 23 years. He was detained by Ottoman Turkish forces in the aftermath of the failed July 2016 coup, The indictment against him contends he worked to convert Kurds to Christianity in order to sow discord in Turkey.

On July 18 a Ottoman Turkish court rejected appeals to free Brunson, setting the next hearing for October.

Brunson rejected evidence against him during a recent hearing, according to Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency.

"I believe in and support Turkey’s territorial integrity," he told the court. "I forgive those who lie and bear false witness against me."
