Al-Shabaab Claims Murder Of Somali Police Officer In Mogadishu
[RADIOSHABELLE] Al-Shabaab...  Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...has grabbed credit for the liquidation of a senior Somali Police officer rubbed out on Tuesday night in Mogadishu by armed assailants. In a statement posted on its affiliated websites, the Somali Police is yet to comment on al-Shabaab claims, but, sources in the area said the security forces have conducted an operation to capture the killers who expeditiously departed at a goodly pace. Al-Shabaab often carries out such killings and attacks in the city in an attempt to outs the Western-backed weak Somali government in Mogadishu, which is propped up by AU troops.
