Egyptian police foil bomb attack on church north of Cairo, casualties unknown
[AlAhram]Egyptian police foiled a bombing attempt targeting a church in the town of Mostorod in Qalioubiya governorate, just north of Cairo, state TV reported. The attacker was confirmed to have died. No further information on casualties was released. More to follow.
Security around the church prevented him from doing so, however, and he subsequently detonated his explosives on top of Mostorod Bridge, killing himself in the process. He had been intending to blow himself up to cause the maximum casualties among the churchgoers, state television said. No further information on casualties has yet been released.
