Al-Shabaab Raids SNA Base Near Baidoa City, Soldiers Killed
[RADIOSHABELLE] At least two government soldiers were killed and several others maimed after heavily armed al-shabab fighters launched dawn attack on a military base in Deynunay locality in Bay region on Saturday.Col. Abdullahi Mohammed, a soldier among the 60th battalion of Somali Army told Radio Shabelle that two soldiers on their side have been killed during the attack by al-shabab He seized the control of the base after the government forces were overpowered in a brief shootout that occurred in the area but withdrew after an hour. A a number of government soldiers sustained injuries after a military vehicle ferrying reinforcement forces to Deynunay was targeted with landmine kaboom near the town. The maimed soldiers were rushed to Baidoa general hospital where they are being treated.
