Protesters burn down Kataeb Hezbollah’s HQ in Basra
[AlMasdar] Angry protesters in the Iraqi city of Basra reportedly set fire to the Kataeb Hezbollah headquarters this evening, local activists posted via social media.

This move comes as a large wave of protesters demonstrated across Iraq over a number of economic issues.

No one was reportedly harmed after the Kataeb Hezbollah building was set on fire, the local activists said.

Kataeb Hezbollah was one of the major Iraqi units that fought against the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
during the three-year long war from 2014-2017.

The Iraqi group also participated in the Syrian conflict on the side of the government; they would help seal the Iraqi-Syrian border earlier this year.
