East Homs Map Update: Syrian Army squeezes ISIS in its last pocket
A[AlMasdar] (3:00 P.M.) – The Syrian forces launched a full-scale offensive to uproot – once and for all – the Islamic State from it last bastion in eastern Homs countryside.Led by the 3rd Corps of the Syrian Army, the government troops managed to recapture Wadi Salahub and Rashwani areas following fierce clashes with the extremist militants. The recent advance puts the Syrian forces nearly 30 km from other Army units fighting the terror group from the western axis near the strategic T3 station. VIDEO: Syrian forces overrun ISIS in east Homs [AlMasdar] (4:30 P.M.) – Fierce battles are currently taking place in the stretching desert of east Homs as the Syrian Army seeks to clear the area from the Islamic State militants. The offensive, spearheaded by the 3rd Corps, primarily aims at reclaiming all territories under ISIS control spanning from the northeast of T3 station to the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor province.
