Syrian Army hits southeast Idlib hard as offensive approaches (video)

[AlMasdar] (12:20 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their missile and artillery strikes on the southeastern countryside of Idlib this week after taking a short hiatus to observe a silent ceasefire.

Led by their Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army heavily targeted the fortifications of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham near the Abu Dhuhour Military Airport.

According to a military report from the Tiger Forces, their troops unleashed a flurry of missiles and artillery shells towards the HTS fortifications inside the towns of Umm Khalakhal and Khuwayn.

Despite the absence of the Russian Air Force, the Syrian Arab Army has kept up the pressure on the jihadist rebels in Hama and Idlib by launching daily artillery and missile strikes on their positions.

The Syrian Arab Army is expected to kickoff their offensive in the Hama and Idlib governorates in the coming days, as they await the results of the Turkish-Russian peace talks.

Syrian Army unleashes big assault across Hama-Idlib axis

[AlMasdar] (2:10 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) unleashed a big assault across the Idlib-Hama axis this afternoon, following a rather quiet morning in northwest Syria.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army began the attack by heavily targeting the Islamist rebels near the Masasneh Checkpoint.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Army managed to eliminate an entire group of Jaish al-Izza fighters, including two snipers.

Following this attack, the Syrian Arab Army began targeting Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
’s trenches around the western axis of Tal Wast.

The Syrian Arab Army was able to destroy at least three trenches belonging to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham before they shifted their attention to the Idlib Governorate.

Using surface-to-surface missiles, the Syrian Arab Army heavily shelled the town of Tamanah, hitting a number of jihadist installations in the process.

The Syrian Arab Army is now focusing most of their attack on the towns of Tamanah and Sukeek, which are both located in the southern part of the Idlib Governorate.

Notorious jihadist who had been evacuated from Damascus killed in northern Hama

[AlMasdar] (3:25 P.M.) – A senior rebel commander who had spent years fighting the Syrian Army near Damascus was killed today in northern Hama countryside.

Khalid al-Tinawi, nicknamed Abu Omar al-Dimashqi, was killed when the Syrian Army bombed caves and hidouts for jihadi groups in Lataminah village; killing and injuring scores.

Al-Dimashqi was one of thousands of militants who had been evacuated with their families from Jobar neighborhood east of the Syrian capital to the country’s north as per an evacuation deal.

The slain militant was known for posting filmed threat message on his Facebook page a few hours before he left Jobar, where he vowed to return victorious to take over the Syrian capital.
