US-backed forces seize strategic bridge near ISIS stronghold in Euphrates Valley
[AlMasdar] The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) managed to seize an imperative site inside the Euphrates River Valley this week.

Backed by French and American artillery, the SDF scored a big advance between the two towns of Baghouz and Albukamal in the Deir Ezzor countryside.

According to the SDF’s official media wing, their forces seized an imperative bridge in this area after a fierce battle with the Islamic State

Militants "launched an opposite attack this morning to recover the bridge, but our forces confronted them and killed them," the SDF stated.

The bridge connects the town of Al Boukamal on the western side of the river with villages and farmlands on the eastern bank, about 7 kilometres upstream from the border with Iraq.
