4 Russian reconnaissance planes spotted north of Alaska
Those Russians have been getting frisky in recent days. Yesterday they were teasing the Brits. | [AlMasdar] The U.S. and Canadian military forces detected at least four Russian reconnaissance planes north of Alaska, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said on Saturday.
The NORAD report said that "two groups of Russian maritime reconnaissance aircraft" had entered the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone on September 21 before leaving the area.
"The Russian aircraft remained in international airspace North of Alaska and at no time did the aircraft enter sovereign United States or Canadian airspace," the statement added.
NORAD did not provide anymore details regarding the 4 Russian reconnaissance planes.
