Bomb wounds 14 in Kashmir
Suspected Islamic rebels set off a bomb Saturday, wounding 14 people, including a senior police officer, in Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said. Ravindra Kotwal, deputy inspector general of police, and 13 others were wounded in the blast, caused by a bomb hidden in a scooter parked on a busy road leading into Anantnag town, a senior police officer said. Kotwal was hit in the leg. Five of his guards and nine civilians were also injured in the attack which took place after a few days of relative calm in the strife-torn Kashmir region. No rebel group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
