NATO says a U.S. service member has been killed in Afghanistan

That sez it all.... -led Resolute Support Mission says a U.S. service member has been killed in Afghanistan but further information confirming the circumstances surrounding the death of the service member has not been disclosed. "One U.S. service member was killed in Afghanistan today," NATO said in a statement, adding that "In accordance with U.S. Department of Defense policy, the name of the service member killed in action is being withheld until 24 hours after notification of next of kin is complete. We will share additional information as appropriate." The latest death of the U.S. service member brings the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan to at least eight. The United States Military has around 14,000 troops in Afghanistan who are mainly involved in training and advising the Afghan armed forces.
