Jihadists suffer heavy losses in failed attack on Syrian Army positions
[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels from the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) launched a new attack last night on the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses inside the al-Ghaab Plain region of the Hama Governorate.
The Turkistan Islamic Party in Syria (TIP) is the Syrian branch of the Turkistan Islamic Party, an armed Uyghur Salafist jihadist group. While the TIP has been active in Syria, the organization’s core leadership is based in Afghanistan and Pakistan, with a presence in its home territory of China. The Syrian branch of the Turkistan Islamic Party uses the Turkish Postal Service and Turkish banks to solicit donations via the organization "Türkistan İslam Derneği" through the website "Doğu Türkistan Bülteni"
According to a military communique from northern Hama, the Turkestan Islamic Party attempted to storm the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses near the key town of al-Sirmaniyeh.

the Syrian Arab Army was able to spot the jihadist rebels before they could reach their intended target south of al-Sirmaniyeh.
A fierce battle would ensue between the two parties in the al-Ghaab Plain, resulting in heavy losses for the jihadist rebels Turkestan Islamic Party.
The Turkestan Islamic Party would ultimately retreat before dawn this morning in order to evade capture by the Syrian Arab Army.
