Three wounded in a magnetic IED explosion in Herat city
[KhaamaPress] At least three people were maimed in an kaboom triggered by a magnetic Improvised Explosive Device in Herat...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... city. According to local security officials, the incident took place later this afternoon in Herat city. Provincial police front man Abdul Ahad Walizada confirmed that a magnetic IED planted in a pickup vehicle went off, leaving at least five people maimed. No individual or group has so far grabbed credit behind the incident. Herat is among the relatively calm province in West of Afghanistan but the anti-government armed hard boyz are active in some of its remote districts and often attempt to target government and security institutions and officials.
