Peres to manage Gaza recovery
 Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres will be in charge of Israel's activities regarding the economic rehabilitation of Gaza after disengagement, political sources said Thursday night. In addition, he will be in charge of the development of the Negev and Galilee. Peres met with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in a meeting that extended late into Thursday night to define Peres's precise areas of jurisdiction. Before meting with Peres, Sharon met with Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom to appraise him of what he was offering the new vice prime minister.
