[KhaamaPress] The Afghan armed forces have thwarted a plot by Talibs to launch coordinated attack against security outposts in northern Faryab province.

The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North in a statement said a clash broke out between Talibs and armed forces in Arklik area of Qaisar district at around 7:30 pm local time on Friday, leaving at least 4 bandidos holy warriors dead and 3 others maimed.

The statement further added that the clash broke out while Talibs were busy planning a coordinated attack on security outposts.

According to 209th Shaheen Corps, the security personnel and local residents did not suffer casualties during the festivities.

The anti-government armed bandidos holy warriors including Taliban

have not commented regarding the clash so far.

This comes as the security situation in some districts of Faryab province has tanked during the recent years amid growing attempts by anti-government armed elements to expand their foothold in this province.
