Duhok: Turkish artillery shells hit Kani Masi town centre

Three houses were damaged, one of them severely, Akraye added. The three homes all belonged to Christians.

There was nobody at home when the houses were hit and there were no injuries, the official stated.

Kani Masi is located in the Amedi region of Duhok province, near the border with Turkey.

Ottoman Turkish forces frequently target alleged PKK positions in the Kurdistan Region’s mountains. The PKK has its headquarters in the Qandil district near the borders with Iran and Turkey.

Ottoman Turkish Arclight airstrikes targeting the PKK sometimes result in civilian casualties.

At least two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed in a skirmish with the PKK on Saturday.
