Afghan forces repel impending Taliban attack in Nangarhar province
[KhaamaPress] The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have repelled an impending Taliban...the Pashtun equivalent of men... attack in eastern Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. In the meantime, the Afghan Special Forces conducted a raid in La’lpur district of Nangarhar province killing 2 Taliban fighters and destroying 80 pounds of opium. The sources also added that the Afghan Special Forces conducted a raid in Omnah district of Paktiak province killing 9 Taliban fighters.
