Turkish Army attacks Kurdish forces near key town in northern Aleppo
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish Army carried out a powerful attack against the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) in the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate this evening.

Using heavy artillery, the Ottoman Turkish Army repeatedly struck the YPG’s positions near the town of Tal Rifa’at, prompting the latter to respond with their own barrage of projectiles on the former’s defenses.

This attack by the Ottoman Turkish Army comes just 48 hours after the Russian military withdrew their police forces from Tal Rifa’at and its surrounding villages in the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is still active in the Tal Rifa’at area and they have already warned the Ottoman Turkish Army about moving into the government-held parts of northern Aleppo.

In particular, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies in Nubl and al-Zahra’a have refused to withdraw from these towns despite warnings from the Ottoman Turkish military.

Nubl and al-Zahra’a were previously besieged by the jihadist rebels until the Syrian Arab Army and their allies launched an offensive in 2016 to lift this siege.
