Couple shot dead by Taliban militants in Sar-e-Pul province
[KhaamaPress] A couple has been rubbed out by Talibs in northern Sar-e-Pul ...a city and eponymous province in northern Afghanistan, population about 500,000. Demographically it is majority Tadjik and Uzbek. There are small Pashtun, Arab, and Hazara ...a grouping of Dari-speaking people of Sino-Tibetan descent inhabiting Afghanistan and Pakistain. They are predominantly Shia Moslems and not particularly warlike, which makes them favored targets...communities, of which the Hazaras mostly don't bother anyone... province of Afghanistan, the Afghan military in the North said Friday. The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the couple was rubbed out at around noon time in Awzan Saqal Village in Gosfandi district the province. The statement further added that circumstances surrounding the killing of the couple have not been ascertained so far. The anti-government armed murderous Moslems including Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... have not commented regarding the incident so far. Sar-e-Pul is among the relatively volatile provinces in Northeastern parts of the country. Talibs are active in some of its districts and often carry out terrorist related activities.
