More than 60 Taliban militants killed, wounded in various operations across the country
[KhaamaPress] More than 60 Talibs were killed or maimed in various operations in the past 24 hours, the military officials said Saturday.The Afghan Special Forces conducted a raid in Tarin Kot district of Uruzgan province killing 24 Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... fighters and destroying 5 improvised bombs, informed military sources said. The sources further added that Afghan Special Forces conducted a similar operation in Gelan district of Ghazni province killing 15 Taliban fighters. "The Taliban fighters attacked an Afghan Police checkpoint in Nurgaram district of Nuristan province but in self defense  s were used killing 8 Taliban fighters and wounding another causing the Taliban to retreat," the sources said.In the meantime, the sources said separate airstrikes were carried out in Bala Murghab district of Badghis and Shirzad district of Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander.
