The 207th Zafar Corps in a statement said the airstrike was carried out in the vicinity of Chesht district targeting the fighters of Abdul Rahman alias Maldar, the military commission chief of Taliban for the district.

The statement further added that 11 Taliban fighters including nephew of Abdul Rahman.

A Toyota Land Cruiser type vehicle was also destroyed in the airstrike, the 207th Zafar Corps added in its statement.

The anti-government armed bully boyz including Taliban have not commented regarding the airstrike so far.

Herat is among the relatively calm provinces in West of Afghanistan but Talibs are active in some of the remote districts of the province including Chest district where often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities against the government and security institutions.
