No human losses were reported, the source added on condition of anonymity. The city has a mixed population, with Arabs forming the majority. Other inhabitants are the Kurds and Turkomans. In 1960s and 1970s, the Shia Kurds constituted the majority of the city’s population, followed by the Shia Turkomans. 13 mortar shells fall on Kanaan City in Diyala Province Diyala (IraqiNews) The Security Media Cell announced, on Thursday, that 13 mortar shells fell, south of Kanaan City, in Diyala Province. It also indicated that a woman was injured due to the attack.
