[KhaamaPress] The Afghan Special Forces freed a group of 33 people from a Taliban

province, the provincial government media office said.

According to a statement released by Helmand governor’s compound, the Afghan Special Forces conducted a raid in Kajaki district late on Thursday night.

The statement further added that the Special Forces rescued 33 people from the Taliban prison.

This is not the first the Special Forces have rescued prisoners from a Taliban prison. The Special Forces rescued 32 people from a Taliban prison in Zabul province a day earlier.

This comes as the UN Mission in Afghanistan had earlier expressed grave concerns regarding grave concern about the ill treatment of detainees in Taliban-run prisons. The Talibs forced the detainees for a minimum of seven hours a day of forced labor, including making improvised bombs besides beating and torturing the detainees, the UN Mission said in its latest reported which was released last week.
Tolo News adds:
According to the statement, among those freed were three members of the Afghan National Police, 29 Army soldiers, and one civilian.

The statement said that the Taliban

prison was destroyed after the rescue of the 33 people.
