Woman testifies against suspects in ‘forced conversion’ case
[DAWN] BADIN: A woman, mother of three, recorded her statement in the court of the second additional sessions judge of Badin on Friday in an alleged forced conversion case. She stated that she had been kidnapped about three months back and forced by her abductors to convert to Islam.

The woman stated in court that the suspects had taken her to an unknown village within Tharparkar, subjected her to criminal assault and kept here in illegal confinement during which she was forced to convert.

She said she wanted to live with her husband and children. The court allowed her to go with her husband.

The Hindu woman, a member of the Kolhi community, was recovered a few days after her husband reported her abduction to the Tando Bago police. He had nominated a man and his unknown associates in the FIR.

A Tando Bago police official, Mureed Junejo, told this news hound that the woman was recovered in a raid on a place within Haji Manik Jamali village.

"We have not been told [by the court] to take any legal action against the suspects," he added.
