in south-eastern Ghazni province.

The Provincial Police Headquarters in a statement said the Talibs launched a major offensive against the security forces in Qarabagh district around 2 am local time on Saturday.

The statement further added that the security forces effectively responded to Talibs attack.

The security forces killed at least 100 gunnies of the Red Unit of Taliban during the clash, the statement added.

According to Provincial Police Headquarters, the dead bodies of 42 gunnies were left in the area following the clash.

This comes as the security situation in some districts of Ghazni province has tanked during the recent months.

Talibs are active in remote and restive areas of the province.

In the meantime, the Afghan forces are busy conducting counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government gangs in this province.

Similarly, the U.S. forces also conduct regular Arclight airstrikes in restive districts of Ghazni to suppress Taliban and other anti-government holy warriors.
