Jihadists capture strategic area to cutoff Syrian Army supply route in northwest Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] A new jihadist offensive in northwestern Hama has caught the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) off guard as the latter has lost a key area between the towns of al-Sqaylabiyeh and Mhardeh.

According to a military source in Mhardeh, the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
stormed the small town of Jibeen and nearby hilltop of Tal Malah this evening in a bid to cut off the government supply line between the two towns.

Following a short battle, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham managed to capture Jibeen from the Syrian Arab Army, while also reaching the key hilltop of Tal Malah.

As a result of this jihadist attack this evening, the Syrian Arab Army was forced to close the main road from Mhardeh to al-Sqaylabiyeh.

Intense festivities are now ongoing at Tal Malah as the jihadists attempt to push further west towards the main government lines in northwestern Hama.
