Russian Air Force steps up attack against jihadists in northwestern Syria
[AlMasdar] The Russian Air Force has recently intensified their strikes against the jihadist groups in northwestern Syria, targeting their positions across the Hama-Idlib axis.

On Sunday, the Russian Air Force carried out a number of strikes in northwestern Hama against the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

and their allies from Jaish al-Izza.

According to a field report from the Hama Governorate, the Russian Air Force began their assault by heavily targeting Jaish al-Izza’s positions around the town of Kafr Zita.

The Russian Air Force would then expand their assault to the southwestern countryside of the Idlib Governorate, where they repeatedly hit Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s positions along their main supply line from Khan Sheikhoun.

Since the collapse of the ceasefire talks with their Ottoman Turkish partners, the Russian Air Force has increased its strikes against the jihadist and Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels.

Most recently, the Russian Air Force bombed a Ottoman Turkish-backed rebel base in the Idlib Governorate town of Madaya; this resulted in the death of several turbans from the National Liberation Front
