Water Mission co-founder Molly Greene drowns during family trip to Bahamas
[NYP] A South Carolina woman died this week during a family vacation in the Bahamas, according to a report.

Molly F. Greene, who is the co-founder of Water Mission, drowned on Wednesday, news station WCBD reported.

Through her nonprofit, Greene was dedicated to supplying clean drinking water in disaster areas and developing countries.

She and her husband, George, founded Water Mission in 2001 after learning of the conditions in Honduras following Hurricane Mitch.

"In the aftermath of their Honduras trip, Molly and George discovered the sad truth about the global water crisis ‐ that billions are forced to drink dirty water every day," the nonprofit said. "In 2001, the Greenes took action to combat this reality and founded Water Mission."

The Diocese of South Carolina in Charleston confirmed Greene’s death Wednesday in a statement.

"Please pray for George Greene and family on the death of his wife Molly," the church said. "Molly, Co-founder of Water Mission, died in an accidental drowning earlier today in the Bahamas. Many in our Diocesan community know the Greenes."
