Taliban militants flog a young couple on charges of eloping
[KhaamaPress] The Talibs flogged a young couple on charges of eloping in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan.Officials in Faryab Police Headquarters confirmed that the incident took place in Kohistan ...a backwoods district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distinguished by being even more rustic than is the norm among the local Pashtuns.... district of Faryab earlier today. The officials further added that the 17-year-old girl engaged to another man, eloped with a 20-year-old man with whom she earlier contacts. However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... the Taliban  ...Arabic for students... arrested the couple and flogged the duo after convicting them of wrongdoing in a Kangaroo Court, the officials added. The Taliban group has not commented in this regard so far. Public flogging and trying individuals in Kangaroo Courts is not rare in the restive parts of the country.
