Over 120 churches damaged in Syria war since 2011: report

It says the rest were done by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... group, the al-Qaeda-linked Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else  ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...and other rebel groups. In one attack, IS used bulldozers to destroy the ancient Saint Elian Monastery in 2015. Other sites were damaged by combat or shelling. Christians made up about 10% of Syria’s pre-war population of 23 million. Half the population are now either internally displaced or have left the country.
