Ministry of Justice vows to prosecute perpetrators of Al-Furnaj massacre
[Libya Observer] The Ministry of Justice confirmed that its competent task forces had monitored and documented the horrific crime of al-Furnaj and all similar incidents in which non-combatants were killed.The ministry said in a statement that the perpetrators of this crime would be prosecuted internally, otherwise through the International Criminal Court (ICC). "Such offence amount to war crimes, which do not fall into the statute of limitations," the ministry has stated, underlining that it would not hesitate to cooperate with the ICC to ensure that those responsible for such crimes are brought before the court; should circumstances prevent their prosecution before the national judiciary.
